As a small nonprofit, Sequoia TR strives to keep costs low. Unfortunately, DDA does not cover the cost of activities participants do not attend. If you’re unable to make it, we kindly ask you to consider making a donation to help cover the cost of your missed activity: Donation Link.

Birdability® (June)
Meet your friends from Sequoia TR and new friends from the Tacoma Bird Alliance (previously Tahoma Audubon Society) on the East side of Tacoma and explore Swan Creek on this Birdability® adventure. It's not just for mountain biking! Please meet us by the brand new small picnic shelter near the ADA parking by the dog park. Naturalists and Birdability® Captains will be on the look out for owls, ravens, Red Breasted Sap Suckers, swallows, and Pileated Woodpeckers to point out to our group. Seriously how cool would it be if we spot one of those Woody Woodpecker birds!? This experience is perfect for all abilities. Naturalists will point out and teach us about the birds we see or hear. It sprinkles, drizzles, and rains in the PNW. And on occasion it's hot and sunny - wear proper clothing for the weather.

Lawn Bowls (June)
Enjoy relaxing Monday evenings at Wright Park lawn bowling with your friends from Sequoia TR. Bowls is a strategic, challenging and fun sport that can be enjoyed by anyone. The object of the game is to roll your bowls closer to the target (the Jack) than your opponents. Easy to learn! Due to the fickle nature of the green in spring walker and wheelchair users will need to hold off joining until later in the season when the green is harder

Meet your friends from Sequoia TR at Meadow Park Golf Course to play golf OR footgolf on the William's Nine. New to footgolf? It's a fun mix of golf and soccer. Use your foot and a soccer ball instead of a club and a golf ball. No experience or gear required.
Golfing? Bring your favorite clubs, or let us know you need to borrow some by answering a few questions.
Each Tuesday evening we will tee off on the William's Nine at 5:30, 5:40, and 5:50. You choose to play footgolf or golf each week, no commitments required. Try them both we think you'll like it.

Bowling (Spring)
Join Sequoia TR for a 10-week social recreational bowling session with friends. Meet at Bowlero Lanes of Lakewood. Bowling starts at 4pm, practice bowling is from 3:50-4pm. Teams of three will bowl two games, no lane switching. All levels welcome. Please tell us if you would like to bowl with a specific friend. STR staff will do our best to partner folks together. Registration fee includes shoe rentals and games. Please give us a heads up if you won't make it to practice. If you are late and your team has bowled more than 5 frames we will add you in on the second game.

Join us for an entertaining afternoon at the Tacoma Armory downtown Tacoma, where you can engage in a delightful social dice game with your friends! Gather in groups of four to roll the dice for points in the lively game of Bunco. Throughout the game, expect friendly rotations of seats and tables. Experienced Bunco players will be on hand to ensure everyone has a fantastic time together. Plus, don't miss out on the chance to win exciting mystery prizes at the end of the event. You've seen a few folks wearing the Sequoia tie dyed shirts. Here is your chance to sign up for this one time Tie Dye fun with the Sequoia Social. We will be tie dying Sequoia branded white t-shirts with friends. Please bring a snack and a drink if you want one. Be prepared to get dirty and have fun. Everyone who wants to dye a shirt needs to register so we get the right amount of shirts. IF you are already registered for the Sequoia Social, you do not need to register for this.

STR Annual Picnic
Annual Picnic Summer Beach Party BBQ at Owen Beach picnic shelter with your friends from STR. Enjoy yard games, picnic food, fun craft, dancing, and a cold water plunge. We encourage carpooling. Each person attending needs to register so we have an accurate count for food. Thanks to donations we are able to keep the cost of this activity down. Due to road construction and improvements expected, plan to avoid Pearl Street to access Owen Beach, instead use Mildred Street.

Bowling (Spring)
Join Sequoia TR for a 10-week social recreational bowling session with friends. Meet at Bowlero Lanes of Lakewood. Bowling starts at 4pm, practice bowling is from 3:50-4pm. Teams of three will bowl two games, no lane switching. All levels welcome. Please tell us if you would like to bowl with a specific friend. STR staff will do our best to partner folks together. Registration fee includes shoe rentals and games. Please give us a heads up if you won't make it to practice. If you are late and your team has bowled more than 5 frames we will add you in on the second game.

Golf & Footgolf (June)
Meet your friends from Sequoia TR at Meadow Park Golf Course to play golf OR footgolf on the William's Nine. New to footgolf? It's a fun mix of golf and soccer. Use your foot and a soccer ball instead of a club and a golf ball. No experience or gear required.
Golfing? Bring your favorite clubs, or let us know you need to borrow some by answering a few questions.
Each Tuesday evening we will tee off on the William's Nine at 5:30, 5:40, and 5:50. You choose to play footgolf or golf each week, no commitments required. Try them both we think you'll like it.

Lawn Bowls (June)
Enjoy relaxing Monday evenings at Wright Park lawn bowling with your friends from Sequoia TR. Bowls is a strategic, challenging and fun sport that can be enjoyed by anyone. The object of the game is to roll your bowls closer to the target (the Jack) than your opponents. Easy to learn! Due to the fickle nature of the green in spring walker and wheelchair users will need to hold off joining until later in the season when the green is harder

Rainier's Baseball Bash!
Meet us at Cheney Stadium at 5:00 pm to party before the first pitch in the Party Deck. Watch the Tacoma Rainiers vs Salt Lake Bees. We will be watching the baseball game from the Party Deck off of 3rd base; it’s reserved exclusively for our group and it’s ADA accessible. Experience includes delicious buffet dinner and refillable drinks. Watch the game while hanging with your friends sitting at a picnic table, or traditional baseball seats. We have 12 parking passes and encourage folks to car pool and arrive early. The parking lot fills up! STR staff will greet Shuttle riders at the front gate - be sure to let us know how you plan to arrive and depart. Game time starts at 6:05pm. We cannot predict the ending time but suggest a 9pm pick up time if you ride Shuttle. Otherwise, we can text your ride in the 9th inning for a better estimate. Tickets are limited. All folks who plan to attend need to register and receive a ticket for admission. While we completely understand things come up at the last minute if you have to cancel we are requesting that folks who use DDA to for pay for activities to make an equal donation to Sequoia TR to help recover the expense of your ticket. DDA will not pay for services if they were not delivered.

Birdability® (May)
Meet your friends from Sequoia TR and new friends from the Tacoma Bird Alliance (previously Tahoma Audubon Society) at Waughop Loop Trail at Fort Steilacoom. We will meet by the benches at the new restroom building. This paved loop trail is perfect for all abilities. Naturalists will point out and teach us about the birds we see or hear like mallard ducks, eagles, and spotted towhee. It sprinkles, drizzles, and rains in the PNW. Bunco Party
What do you call Chewbacca when he has chocolate stuck in his hair? Chocolate Chip Wookie. The Force is strong with Sequoia TR. BUNCO is a social dice game that will have you laughing and sharing good times with others. No experience necessary - volunteers absolutely welcome. Meet us at the Tacoma Armory in Suite 15 on Saturday May 3rd 5-7:30pm, dinner provided. Please contact us with any dietary restrictions. Wheelchair Accessible Entrance on 10th St/ Nollmeyer.
