We understand that plans can change! If you need to cancel, please call at least 5 days before the event for a full refund. See our full to Cancellation Policy and Grievance Policy for details.
As a small nonprofit, Sequoia TR strives to keep costs low. Unfortunately, DDA does not cover the cost of activities participants do not attend. If you’re unable to make it, we kindly ask you to consider making a donation to help cover the cost of your missed activity: Donation Link.

Birdability® (March)
Join Sequoia and the Tahoma Bird Alliance for a guided bird-watching adventure at one of Tacoma’s newest parks! A knowledgeable guide from the Tahoma Bird Alliance will share insights about local bird species and help participants spot a variety of feathered friends along the way. Trails are paved and accessible, making this program suitable for all mobility levels. The outing will take place rain or shine—please dress appropriately for the weather.

Bowling (Winter)
Join Sequoia TR for weekly recreational bowling with friends. This program is a great chance to hang out and enjoy each other's company while playing the fun game of bowling. For all levels. If you'd like, you're welcome to arrive 15 minutes early (3:45) for a bit of practice before the program starts (at 4:00). Teams will bowl 2 games, no lane switching. If you have a team request, please include that on your registration and STR staff will do our best to partner folks together. You are invited to bowl Special Olympics with any other team and bowl recreationally with Sequoia.

Bunco Party
Engage in a delightful social dice game with your friends. Gather in groups of four to roll the dice for points in the lively game of Bunco. Throughout the game, expect friendly rotations of seats and tables. Experienced Bunco players will be on hand to ensure everyone has a fantastic time together. Plus, don't miss out on the chance to win exciting themed prizes at the end of the event. Come join the fun!
Join us for an entertaining afternoon at our newest partner location- The Bryant Neighborhood Center located at 1619 6th Ave; Tacoma, WA 98467. ADA parking is available. Please let us know if you need a place and we will ensure there is one saved.

Birdability® (April)
Meet your friends from Sequoia TR and Tacoma Bird Alliance at Wapato Park on the Sheridan side for this Birdability® adventure to learn about birds and their habitats. This flat paved loop around Wapato Lake is perfect for all abilities. Naturalists Birdability® Captains will point out and teach us about the birds we see or hear. Due to all the cat tails, we anticipate seeing and hearing Red Winged Black Birds. There is also a good chance of seeing ducklings. It sprinkles, drizzles, and rains in the PNW - wear proper clothing for the weather. Schedule Shuttle drop off for the boathouse.
Meeting Location: Meet on the Sheridan Street side of the park. It's easier for shuttles to pull in that loop for pick up/ drop off than it is coming from 72nd street. We will meet near the boat house.

Rainier's Baseball Bash!
Meet us at Cheney Stadium at 5:00 pm to party before the first pitch in the Party Deck. Watch the Tacoma Rainiers vs Salt Lake Bees. We will be watching the baseball game from the Party Deck off of 3rd base; it’s reserved exclusively for our group and it’s ADA accessible. Experience includes delicious buffet dinner and refillable drinks. Watch the game while hanging with your friends sitting at a picnic table, or traditional baseball seats. We have 12 parking passes and encourage folks to car pool and arrive early. The parking lot fills up! STR staff will greet Shuttle riders at the front gate - be sure to let us know how you plan to arrive and depart. Game time starts at 6:05pm. We cannot predict the ending time but suggest a 9pm pick up time if you ride Shuttle. Otherwise, we can text your ride in the 9th inning for a better estimate. Tickets are limited. All folks who plan to attend need to register and receive a ticket for admission. While we completely understand things come up at the last minute if you have to cancel we are requesting that folks who use DDA to for pay for activities to make an equal donation to Sequoia TR to help recover the expense of your ticket. DDA will not pay for services if they were not delivered.

Birdability® (May)
Meet your friends from Sequoia TR and new friends from the Tacoma Bird Alliance at Chamber's Bay Field. Naturalists will point out and teach us about the birds we see or hear. We will look for swallows in the field, an osprey nest, and keep our eyes open for eagles and red tailed hawks. This experience is perfect for all abilities. There is a paved trail and the beach overlook is ADA accessible. It sprinkles, drizzles, and rains in the PNW and on occasion it's hot and sunny - wear proper clothing for the weather.
Chambers Bay Meadow Meeting Spot: Enter the park at the main entrance on 62nd St Ct W and Grandview Drive W. Park at the bottom of the hill. Meet in the plaza between the accessible parking and the restrooms.
